India (Commonwealth) _ Global NCAP has given the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari a 5-star grade. The SUVs scored 33.05 points for protecting adult occupants and 45 points for safeguarding children.

According to the crash test results, the Harrier and Safari provided satisfactory head and neck protection for the driver and passenger during the frontal impact test. The knees and chests of the driver and passenger both displayed good protection. The tibias of the driver and passenger both demonstrated acceptable and good protection. Both the bodyshell and the footwell section received steady ratings.

In the side impact test, the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis were well protected. In the side pole impact test, curtain airbags that are installed as standard provided adequate protection for the abdomen, mediocre protection for the chest, and good protection for the head and pelvis.

The 3-year-old’s child seat provided complete protection by preventing head exposure during the frontal impact. The 18-month-old’s kid seat was also capable of preventing head exposure and providing complete protection.The test cars had side head curtain airbags, side chest airbags, and dual front airbags. The SUVs also have seat belt reminders, ESC, ISOFIX, and 3-point seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters.

The costs for the 2023 Harrier and Safari facelift have been released by Tata Motors. The 5-seater Harrier is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh, and the Safari series is priced at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The seven manual trims of the Tata Harrier are Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Fearless, and Fearless+. Prices range from Rs. 15.49 lakh to Rs. 24.49 lakh for these.

The price of the Harrier automatic and “Dark edition” starts at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes in four trim levels: Pure+, Adventure+, Fearless, and Fearless+. Additionally, there are seven manual trims for the Tata Safari: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+. Between Rs. 16.19 lakh to Rs. 25.49 lakh is the pricing range for these.

Starting at Rs 20.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the automatic and “Dark edition” trims are priced. Tata completely redesigned the Harrier and Safari. The front fascia of the SUVs has undergone extensive revision, and thinner tail lamp clusters and new, svelte LED daytime running lights are joined by an LED light bar.

A number of updated technologies are now standard on SUVs, including ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, 7 airbags, a new gear knob known as “Smart E-Shifter,” paddle shifters, and dual-zone automatic climate control with a touch-based control panel.

A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with Navigational Display, a new steering wheel with an illuminated emblem, and a 10-speaker JBL audio system are all included in the revised SUVs.

Under the hood, the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine in the Harrier and Safari facelift continues to produce 168 BHP and 350 Nm. a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission is used with the engine.

In the most recent assessment undertaken by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) as part of the Safer Cars for India campaign, Tata Motors’ new Harrier and Safari received the highest grade for the safety of both adult and kid occupants.

Both models of Tata Motors demonstrated complete protection for child occupants, according to Global NCAP, a program that works to promote the sale of safer cars in developing markets. Both models also come with ISOFIX anchorages and a passenger airbag disabling switch, increasing their adaptability for transporting kids.

Global NCAP said that the Safari and Harrier both satisfy the minimum standards set forth by UN127 and GTR9 for pedestrian protection. The dynamic tests, according to Global NCAP, evaluate all vehicle models’ frontal and side impact safety features as well as Electronic Stability Control (ESC). It went on to say that the highest star-rated vehicles were also evaluated for pedestrian protection and side impact pole protection.
