The productivity growth numbers for Australian manufacturers may be the greatest in the world

-

The following figures were obtained from research conducted over 20 years among 82 jobbing technology and designing enterprises in New Zealand and Australia utilizing Empower technology.

According to our understanding, these numbers represent the largest study to date (82 organizations were engaged), as well as the biggest productivity improvements ever verified (23.56%). Labour Time Savings on All Jobs, which equates to % Labour Cost Reduction on All Jobs, is the essential Metric for all companies and engineers adopting this technology. The process is straightforward: workshop personnel downloads their job list on their touchscreens, start each job, and complete it. Individual employees, all works, all job statuses, all job timeframes, and all job deviations are shown in “real-time” and continually during the eight-hour workday on 50-inch TV displays in the office and also on the workshop floor.

In contrast, if you had 10 processes to manufacture a given product and you bought a new CNC machine to reduce labor time by 50%, that would be a 5% labor time reduction on all jobs, across the entire business (there are 10 processes to manufacture a given product and the new CNC machine that you have purchased reduces labor time by 50% in that single process).

On the technology of touch displays on the shop floor and the Empower Workshop Productivity & Scheduling App, three manufacturing experts provide the following advice. “I visited Phoenix Aluminium Windows and listened to the owner Jon Martin, with other engineers and manufacturers in attendance, to hear “11 years ago (in 1998) we had 26 factory staff and were struggling with being productive – solely with the use of PC’s on the factory floor time tracking software we reduced staff down to 10.5 at the same time increasing output,” said Doug Green, publisher of NZ Manufacturer magazine. “May 2020 I attended a training session on what I now observe and infer to be an extraordinary and world-class labor management system in the Empower Workshop Productivity & Scheduling Software App,” recommends Jeff Tuffnell, Director of Jupiter Lean Manufacturing Consultancy. “Empower Software is ideal for SMEs and big jobbing engineers and manufacturers. “Using Empower, projected weekly production and income are quite high. Weekly Return on Investment (ROI) is likewise quite high.
