Tissot opens UK flagship store in Covent Garden

United Kingdom (Commonwealth Union)_Tissot, the Swiss watch brand owned by the Swatch Group, has opened a flagship boutique in London’s Covent Garden. 

On Monday there was more evidence that London’s Covent Garden is becoming an ever more appealing location for higher-end brands to open flagships, particularly in the watches and jewellery segment. 

The estate’s landlord Shaftesbury Capital announced that Tissot, the Swiss watch brand owned by the Swatch Group, has opened its debut flagship boutique in Covent Garden, and it’s the brand’s only standalone store in the UK.  
 
Tissot has focused on the London market for its UK growth and the new flagship is at 7 James Street, showcasing its broad selection of premium watches for men and women. 

Tissot’s debut flagship enhances the already strong range of fine jewellery and luxury watch stores on the Covent Garden estate which has been as mentioned, a particular target for luxury watch and jewellery brands of late and boutiques there already include TAG Heuer, Bucherer, Hublot, Omega, Tiffany & Co and Tudor, as well as the more recently opened Messika and Girard-Perreguax stores.  

Representing the only standalone store brand in the UK, the shop in James Street stocks a wide selection of premium watches for men and women, including the popular Tissot PRX, Seastar, T-Touch Connect, and Le Locle collections.

Chief Executive of Tissot, Sylvain Dolla, said that as they celebrate over 170 years of watchmaking heritage, this expansion in the heart of London and the popular Covent Garden specifically, is a significant stride in bringing their own blend of tradition and modernity to a broader audience.   “We look forward to offering our customers an immersive experience that reflects the spirit of Tissot.” 

Michelle McGrath, executive director of Shaftesbury Capital, said that Tissot had been an innovator within the watch industry for decades, boasting a rich heritage and historic brand journey.   He said that at Covent Garden, they endeavour to present the very best of retail across multiple categories, and that there was a clear opportunity for Tissot to thrive and deliver timeless pieces and extend the range on offer for their visitors. 

Other brands to recently open stores in Covent Garden include womenswear retailer Odd Muse, luxury perfume house Creed and contemporary demi-fine jewellery brand Missoma.
