India (Commonwealth Union)_ Revamping Indian airports for a more efficient and traveler-friendly experience is at the forefront of Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel Jyotiraditya Scindia’s agenda. To facilitate expedited travel, the minister prioritizes adherence to international travel standards. Presiding over a recent advisory committee meeting, Scindia aimed to reshape airport infrastructure and incorporate state-of-the-art technologies to streamline immigration and security protocols.

One notable proposal was for the cross-utilization of XBIS machines across domestic and international terminals at Delhi airport. Moreover, trials for e-gates and e-biometrics for immigration processes are already in progress, assuring to transform the efficiency and security standards of air travel. The meeting also included a thorough assessment of manpower requirements for CISF and immigration officers, considering the projected expansion of airports nationwide, including new projects in Jewar and Navi Mumbai.
