Universities in Malaysia welcome Brunei students!

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (CU)_ Malaysia will continue to be a favorite destination for foreign students, notably those from Brunei Darussalam, due to the relaxation of COVID-19 limitations and quarantine requirements. Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah, the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, declared this during the opening of the Study in Malaysia Education Fair held at the Goldstone Ballroom of the Centrepoint Hotel.

The ambassador stated that Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) has partnered with the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam to organize the event. The education fair which was held physically after a long time helped students, instructors, and parents in the Sultanate to gain more knowledge about Malaysian higher education.

According to the high commissioner, the representatives of the participating universities were able to provide the visitors with necessary information at the educational exhibition. The fair was inaugurated with a cultural performance by local dancers and speeches from the CEO of EMGS, Mohd Radzlan bin Jalaludin, and the Malaysian envoy.

According to Mohd Radzlan, EMGS is initiating further promotional initiatives for Malaysia among overseas students. With achievements throughout the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania, Europe, and now Brunei, EMGS facilitates face-to-face consultation between Malaysian colleges and potential students and their parents.

The fourteen universities that took part in the educational fair are Raffles University, Imperium International College, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Management and Science University (MSU), Taylor’s University, Universiti Malaya (UM), Manipal International University, Sunway University, SEGi College Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UNIKL), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM); and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

Mohd Radzlan disclosed that EMGS will meet with Dato’ Raja Reza to build and deepen partnerships between Malaysian and Bruneian stakeholders in higher education. According to EMGS statistics, over a thousand Bruneian students applied to study in Malaysia between January 2019 and June 2022.
