Utilizing HVO fuel can help you reduce your CO2 emissions by up to 90%

England (Commonwealth Union) _ Sam Gray, Sales Training and Product Development Manager at Toyota Material Handling UK, talks about HVO Fuel, a novel substitute for fossil fuel that may reduce the net carbon dioxide emissions of forklifts with engines by as much as 90%.

Companies of all sizes increasingly want the most sustainable energy solutions for their forklift fleets because to the growing urgency to address the underlying causes of climate change. With the newest fuel to hit the market, HVO, operators of IC engine-powered forklift trucks are reportedly able to reduce their net CO2 emissions by up to 90%, as well as nitrogen oxide (NOx), particulate matter (PM), and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of experts believe that HVO is essential to helping the UK reach its 2050 net zero emission goal for greenhouse gases. HVO, which is supported by a wide range of original equipment manufacturers, is manufactured synthetically using a sophisticated refining process that eliminates oxygen from molecules of waste animal and vegetable fat and produces hydrocarbons that are extremely similar to ordinary diesel. However, it is crucial to realize that HVO is essentially distinct from biodiesel and does not, therefore, suffer from any of the drawbacks occasionally connected with biodiesel. The fuel is purified during the manufacturing process, yielding a consistent, high-quality product that dramatically lowers hazardous emissions from diesel engines.

Another benefit is that HVO may be mixed at any ratio because it is 100% interchangeable with traditional fossil diesel. As a result, gasoline tanks don’t need to be drained or cleaned, allowing forklift operators to just “top-up and go”. Since most major engine manufacturers have acknowledged this capability of being switched out with the bare minimum of bother, warranties for rapid diesel to HVO conversions are supported.
