India (Commonwealth Union)_ In a remarkable display of strength and stamina, Indian athlete Vispy Kharadi has set a new Guinness World Record by holding two colossal Hercules pillars for an astounding 2 minutes and 10.75 seconds. The extraordinary feat, which took place in Surat, Gujarat, has catapulted Kharadi into the global spotlight, as his video of the record-breaking performance quickly went viral. The Hercules pillars, inspired by the legendary architecture of ancient Greece, were no lightweights. Standing at 123 inches tall and with a diameter of 20.5 inches, each pillar weighed a hefty 166.7 kg and 168.9 kg. For Kharadi, holding these pillars for over two minutes tested his physical limits, but his dedication and superhuman strength prevailed. Guinness World Records officially recognized this monumental achievement, cementing Kharadi’s status among the world’s most formidable athletes.

Kharadi, 42, shared his accomplishment with his followers on Instagram, expressing his pride in disproving stereotypes. “People used to say Indians are weak because our genetics are not as strong as people from other countries. But, I have proven this wrong,” he said. “The Hercules hold is something most people wouldn’t even attempt. I respect the previous record holder, but I knew I could push beyond, and I did. The previous record was set with wooden pillars, but this time, I held steel pillars.”  With an air of defiance, Kharadi concluded, “This isn’t just my victory. This is proof that Indians are not genetically inferior. Our strength matches the best in the world. When an Indian sets his mind to something, they achieve it.”
