Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ A wave of nostalgia filled Goa recently as some of the most iconic figures from 1990s South Indian cinema reunited for a wonderful get-together. The event, which united directors and actors as well as the leading women of the 90s, became a celebration of friendship, cinema, and shared history. Moments from the event are now lighting up social media, much to the delight of fans. The guest list included almost all top actors’ of 90s cinema. Accordingly, renowned filmmakers K. S. Ravikumar, Shankar, Lingusamy, and Mohan Raja were present, along with choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva. Leading men Jagapathi Babu and Meka Srikanth added charm to the event, while evergreen actresses like Simran, Meena, Sangavi, Malavika, Reema Sen, Sangitha, Maheshwari, and Sivaranjani brought back memories of a golden age of cinema.

Sources close to the gathering described the atmosphere as warm and emotional. Old friends shared stories from the sets, laughed at off-screen funny moments, and spent extended times together on the beach. The reunion was more than just recalling the past; it was an emotional respect for a time that had brought them all together in a successful industry, which left a long-lasting impact on South Indian film. Photos and videos from the trip have since gone viral. One clip, in particular, posted by actress Simran, shows several actresses dancing to the hit Bollywood song Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jaaye from Taal. The video, captioned simply “Fun,” resonated with fans who were delighted to witness these stars having fun.

Director Mohan Raja also shared a personal moment on Instagram, posting a picture with Prabhu Deva aboard a speedboat. “On the day of #19yearsofUnakkumEnakkum, with the master himself,” he wrote. Unakkum Enakkum, a Tamil adaptation of the Telugu song Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, is still a fan favorite. Both versions were directed by the two buddies seen in the post. The group also enjoyed beach trips, sunset vistas, boat excursions, and lengthy discussions about their film experiences. The reunion not only rekindled old friendships, but it also instilled optimism in fans eager to see these cherished artists work on film again.
