SINGAPORE (CWBN)_According to a joint press statement by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, the two nations have agreed on the establishment of a Reciprocal Green Lane (RGA), which will enable essential travel for business or official purposes via direct flights between two countries.

While the eligible applicants are expected to abide by “the COVID-19 prevention and public health measures mutually agreed by both countries”, operational details, including the procedural requirements, health protocols, and application process, are yet to be announced.

While, a second wave of the Coronavirus has sent most of much of Europe back into lockdown, Singapore, on the other hand, has been reporting improved virus trends.

Following deliberations held in Brussels Wednesday (Oct 21), the European Union decided to reopen its borders to travelers from Singapore. Prior to the agreement with Germany, Singapore already had travel arrangements with 10 other countries and territories, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Japan and Australia, with varied restrictions in place.
