CWBN launched global campaign on behalf of India this month
NEW DELHI (CWBN)_ Hard on the heels of Commonwealth Business News (CWBN) launching a campaign for India to become a Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo publicly pledged support for India’s candidacy, during his high profile visit to India and a lengthy discussion with Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jayshankar.
Pompeo stated during a media conference following his discussions with the Indian FM: “We, the United States, values India as a multilateral partner, whether it’s through the quad, through new cooperation on regional issues, making Afghan peace negotiations successful, or working together during India’s upcoming term on the United Nations Security Council. We continue to support India’s Permanent Membership of that body. May the United States keep leading together with India on the issues of our time, and may God bless America and India.”
CWBN launched a global campaign on 1st October 2020 for India to be made a Permanent Member of the UN Security Council and has already obtained support from many prominent leaders throughout the Commonwealth.
CWBN has been in discussions with the Government of India on this campaign.
Pompeo led a high level delegation to the Subcontinent and signed several important agreements between the world’s two largest democracies. These included the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geo-Spatial Cooperation (BECA), which was finalised earlier today (27th October).
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper, who accompanied Pompeo, inked there signatures on the agreement at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, sealing one of the most important military relationships in history and sending a strong signal to the China-Pakistan-Russian axis, as aggressions in the South China Sea and along the Lines of Actual Control (LACs) both to the north and west of India, rose to unexpected heights.
BECA would enable India to obtain access to the advanced satellite network maintained by the US, which provides enhanced guidance and targeting for ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, together with agreements on communications, logistics and tech, and information that were signed in 2018, 2016 and 2002 respectively.
