Senators refuse to certify Biden win

New York, USA (CU)_ Led by Ted Cruz, a group of 11 senators and senators-elect are reportedly refusing to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the US Presidential Elections held last year, and are seeking a 10-day delay to review several uncorroborated allegations.

The move, reflecting support to incumbent President Donald Trump’s repeated tantrums alleging election fraud, and his refusal to concede to his rival, is not expected to get the barrel rolling given that the majority of the Senate is in support of the president-elect.

Moreover, the cases Trump had filed in various courts throughout the US have been overwhelmingly rejected, save for a miniscule victory in Pennsylvania with regard to a small number of postal votes.

Vice-President Mike Pence asserted similar allegation pertaining to the same, and his chief-of-staff, Marc Short claimed on Saturday that (2nd Jan) that Pence welcomes the steps taken by Cruz and other Trump supporters in the Senate in their attempts to “raise objections” on the 6th of this month when Congress is due certify the Electoral College decision 306 to 232 in favour of Biden.
