TORONTO (CU)_The York-Eglinton Business Improvement Area has the largest concentration of Black-owned businesses in the city of Toronto, if not Canada. The community is currently struggling with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction, which has devastated the area over the past decade, as the community lost more than 200 businesses on account of the project. Therefore, with the aim of showing some love to small town businesses in the area, a new Afro-Caribbean farmers’ market was opened in Little Jamaica on Sunday (4 July).
