Government enforces strict guidelines for spas and massage centers in New Delhi

New Delhi, India (CU)_ The Delhi government has issued strict operating guidelines for spas and massage centers in the city. According to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, cross-gender massages are prohibited in the spas, massage therapists and clients should be of the same gender, and the therapists are required to have a professional degree, diploma, or certificate in physiotherapy, acupressure, or occupational therapy. The new rules were created to address sexual abuse and human trafficking taking place in spas and massage centers in recent times.
