The first mRNA COVID-19 vaccine of India gets approval for further clinical trials

Mumbai, India (CU)_ The Indian drug regulator, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI),  has approved phase II and III clinical trials of HGCO19, which is the first mRNA COVID-19 vaccine candidate in the nation. Under the COVID-19 suraksha mission, Gennova Biopharmaceuticals is developing the vaccine in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).
