Nigerian President reaffirms safety of new digital currency

ABUJA (CU)_Earlier this week, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari launched the country’s first ever central bank digital currency (CBDC), after plans to unveil the eNaira on 1 October were postponed. The event took place at the State House in Abuja, making the West African nation one of the few countries in the world to have developed an official digital currency. It can be purchased through eNaira speed wallet and eNaira merchant wallet, both of which are now available on Google play store and Apple store.
