Risk factors for acute stroke among Indians

Mumbai, India (CU)_ Acute strokes, commonly referred to as cerebrovascular accidents, can be classed as ischemic or hemorrhagic. Acute strokes cause an area of the brain to lose blood supply, nutrients, and oxygen, leading to neuronal damage and consequent neurological impairments. Similar to the other types of stroke, acute stroke begins quickly and rapidly progresses. Certain strokes are preceded by transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), which are transitory strokes that resolve without leaving lasting damage.
