EDINBURGH (CU)_As the global community races against the clock to minimise their carbon footprint in order to tackle the ongoing climate crisis, offshore wind farms are playing a significant role in these efforts. As of 2020, the total worldwide offshore wind power capacity stood at 35.3GW, to which the United Kingdom, China and Germany made major contributions. UK’s top spot on this list has now been cemented by Scotland, which recently concluded the largest ever auction of the country’s seabed plots.
