California, USA (CU)_ Dr Akshat Jain, an Indian American pediatric hematologist oncologist serving at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital has joined the cancer non-profit Forever with Us Foundation’s board of directors.

Forever with Us Foundation, a dedicated nonprofit organization founded by Kelsey Testman following the death of her brother and volunteering at Miller Children’s Hospital, plans to expand into the inland region in order to assist families to manage with the financial burden associated with the death of loved ones.

Accordingly, by acting as a board member of the nonprofit, the Indian American pediatric hematologist oncologist at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital will support the charity in achieving its objectives and providing on-time assistance to families grieving the death of a child due to cancer.

Testman has already experienced the financial strain that funeral expenses can place on a family. Through conversations with her parents and social workers, she learnt that families struggling with children’s cancer do not practically get any assistance with these expenditures. According to a news statement, she established the Forever With Us charity to assist families going through the heartbreaking ordeal of losing a child to cancer.

At the moment, the Forever With Us Foundation helps families from five Southern California children’s hospitals, including Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and Children’s Hospital of Orange County. To date, Forever With Us charity has contributed more than $60,000 to over 90 families to deal with funeral costs.
