Leave it to the Swifties to crack the code when it comes to our favourite Taylor Swift and her signature style. This time around, they uncovered all the hidden aspects in the star’s MTV Video Music Awards look.
Swift received three awards for her musical short film All Too Well at the VMAs, but that was hardly the news that gained traction for her that night. Heads turned and jaws dropped when she first walked in a shimmering silver minidress crafted from bejewelled chains and matching chandelier crystal Christian Louboutin strappy heels. Later onstage, in her dazzling outfit, she announced the release of a whole new album, Midnights, dropping on the 21st of October.
Here’s how every aspect of her fit, had some theory linked to it as deciphered by swifties from all over the world. They claimed that her dress was a reference to the 2009 VMAs where she donned a metallic silver piece, “13” years ago when she was interrupted by Kanye West during her speech.
She also wore a silver jewel-encrusted dress while lying in a bathtub filled with diamonds in the video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” which she wrote about West and then wife Kim Kardashian, after the rapper made a rude remark about Swift in his song “Famous” and Kardashian threatened to release a voice recording they took of a phone call between Swift and West (during which Swift allegedly approved the lyrics that she later complained about).
Always believing in the power of Karma, Midnights is due to release on the 21st of October, which happens to be the birth date of Kardashian. It was also hinted that her album “Reputation” which was about the whole drama, might make an appearance in the form of “Taylor’s Version” leaving fans in a state of eager anticipation as to what is yet to be unfolded.
