A direct route between Pakistan and Qatar has been launched by the Qatari shipping company Milaha, which is growing its container transport network. The new service, Pakistan Qatar Express (PQX), will run once a week between the Port of Karachi and Hamad Port, taking 4 days to complete the trip. It is marketed as the quickest direct route between the two nations.

In addition to the existing Mundra call made by Milaha as part of the India Qatar Express Service, the introduction of PQX will also introduce a second weekly service to and from the port of Mundra in India (IQX). Two ships with a combined capacity of 1700 TEU will run PQX, and they will visit all ports once a week in rotation between Mesaieed, Mundra, Karachi, Hamad, and Mesaieed. According to Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai, President and CEO of Milaha, “We have been actively scaling up our activities between Qatar and important Asian markets in response to increased demand from traders, importers, and exporters on both sides.

With the launch of our new PQX service, clients in Pakistan and India will have more access to Qatar and other markets in the Arabian Gulf and will be able to buy more perishable goods and other items. The shipping routes that Milaha uses have lately increased. Currently, the company makes calls to two ports in Oman, Sohar and Salalah, three ports in India, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Kandla, and one port in Kuwait, Shuwaikh. The business claims to be “currently examining” opportunities for additional service augmentation.
