UK (Commonwealth Union)_BitKeep, a well-known wallet service, was hacked this morning, October 18, and more than $1 million was gone, prompting BitKeep to inform all of its users. The business said its development team acted swiftly in order to restrict the hacker’s access.

Despite the fact that the BNB Chain was attacked, BitKeep has also promised to pay in full. The wallet swap provider also implemented certain security measures after the hack. However, the specific method of repayment will not be revealed right now. In order to ensure that there are no more vulnerabilities that might compromise the service’s capacity to safeguard users’ assets, BitKeep has temporarily ceased operations. In order to locate and capture the culprits of the breach, its team is also in contact with and cooperating with other security groups. To recover the lost data, BitKeep is aggressively looking for the hacker. As new information becomes available, BitKeep has vowed to update their clientele.

In the past year, there had been a significant increase in the number of compromised digital wallets in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. An inherent weakness in a swap contract was exploited last month by a hacker to steal over $21 million from TransitSwap, a multi-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator. The wallet provider has listed a number of steps to stop future damage and prosecute the perpetrator. They have shut down the BitKeep Swap service to make sure there are no more security flaws, and they are also collaborating with law enforcement to find the culprit.

Although terms of the scheme have not yet been disclosed, the corporation would repay consumers who lost money. As BitKeep gains more knowledge about the assault, it will provide additional details. On October 18, BitKeep published its own update in which it said that the situation had been successfully contained by the development team. It further mentioned that the BNB Chain was the target of the attack. This chain has been breached many times already this month, including once in the first week of October when an assault used it to steal $100 million.
