India (Commonwealth) _ The top SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., announced the delivery of the 100,000th unit of their flagship SUV, the XUV700. The Mahindra XUV700 achieved this milestone in less than 20 months, making it the fastest SUV in the Mahindra lineup to do so. Mahindra delivered 50,000 units of the XUV700 within the first 12 months of its launch, followed by another 50,000 units over the next eight months. With increased production capacities this year, the business hopes to supply even more SUVs than the previous 1 lakh vehicles.
In May 2023, Mahindra Thar will have sold one lakh units in India. In India, both the Mahindra Thar and the Mahindra XUV700 have huge waiting lists. According to media sources, the waiting period for the Mahindra XUV700 has been reduced by four months. In reality, the waiting period for vehicles such as the AX7 and AX7L petrol and diesel variants has been lowered by 6 months.
According to the sources, the corporation has gradually increased production of the Mahindra XUV700, with numbers expected to rise from 6,000 to 10,000 units per month by March 2024.
The Mahindra XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 200hp and 380Nm of torque, as well as a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 155hp, 360Nm of torque, and 185hp with 420Nm (450Nm with the AT). Both engines are connected to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, with AWD as an option.
The Mahindra XUV700 starts at Rs 14.01 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the Tata Harrier and Safari, the MG Hector and Hector Plus, and the Hyundai Alcazar.
Mahindra Thar, like the Mahindra XUV700, reached a milestone of 1 lakh units sold in India in May 2023.
