In a groundbreaking collaboration, Puma and Trophy Hunting have unveiled a new capsule collection featuring 12 meticulously crafted pieces. The range, a result of the collaborative efforts of Puma and Trophy Hunting designers Kari Cruz and Dustin Canalin, encompasses a diverse selection of outerwear, including varsity jackets, a robust mesh performance skirt, biker shorts, leggings, and more. Rooted in purposeful design and authentic storytelling, the collection signifies the convergence of two powerhouse brands committed to innovation.

Trophy Hunting, a Black, AAPI, and Latinx-owned brand with a deep dedication to American sportswear, teamed up with Puma to bring this unique collection to life. The partnership was facilitated by June Ambrose, the creative director of Puma’s women’s basketball category, who played a pivotal role in the collaboration’s realization.

The 12-piece line draws inspiration from Cruz’s personal experience with athletic uniforms during her school days in the Bronx. Reflecting on her Dominican-American upbringing and the minimalism associated with uniforms, Cruz co-designed a collegiate-inspired range with a go-to everyday jewelry aesthetic. The collection embodies the intersection of sport and style, paying homage to Cruz’s cultural roots.

June Ambrose expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I love Dustin and Kari’s unique perspective on classic sport aesthetics. Having launched women’s basketball with Puma, it’s encouraging to see other stylistic interpretations of the category.”

A standout piece in the collection is Trophy Hunting’s reinterpretation of the varsity jacket, blending preppy classics with modern luxury in lush satin. The fully reversible jacket features a luxe faux-fur camouflage print lining, adding a playful and versatile touch to the traditional silhouette.

Complementing the apparel, the footwear range showcases three reimagined Puma basketball shoes: Clyde All-Pro, Slipstream, and Suede. Crafted from high-quality leathers and suedes, these shoes offer a luxurious everyday staple in deep green and stark white colorways. The collection’s hardware details and trims pay homage to the Bronx’s affinity for gold jewelry, with bamboo-shaped hoop earrings inspiring zipper pulls on reversible track jackets and gold nameplate details serving as shoelace charms on the footwear.

Kari Cruz shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This collaboration is a personal extension of my culture, life, and story. I hope that other women are able to see, feel, and connect with the collection as well.” With a nod to Puma’s 75 years of hoop heritage, this collaboration seamlessly blends cultural influences, athletic aesthetics, and everyday luxury, offering a distinctive collection that resonates with a diverse audience.
