Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, recently reiterated his vision for a ‘New Nigeria’ during a meeting with citizens in the Diaspora as part of his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the United States. In a statement jointly signed by the Coordinators of the PONewNigeriaProject, Dr. David Ogula, Dr. Moses Paul, and Mrs. Ndidi Mbagwu, Obi emphasized the possibility of a new Nigeria if the right people were recruited at all levels of government.

Reflecting on the transformative journey of the US tour and the insightful lecture delivered at Harvard Law School, Obi conveyed a sense of hope and optimism for Nigeria’s future. He emphasized that despite the current challenges, Nigerians have the capacity to surmount obstacles and build a nation where every individual can flourish. Obi encouraged his fellow citizens to carry forward the lessons learned and the connections forged during the tour, fostering qualities of courage, compassion, and hope. By embodying these values, he believes Nigerians can collectively work towards realizing a brighter and more prosperous future for themselves and future generations.

During engagements on the state of the nation and pathways forward, Obi observed moments filled with hope, determination, and a shared vision for a better tomorrow. He commended individuals whose dedication and passion inspired them to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in their communities.

The interactive Questions and Answer session and Thank You Tour in Boston, Massachusetts, provided a platform for meaningful dialogue with members of the ‘Obidients’ family and New Nigeria enthusiasts. Together, they delved into pressing issues and charted a course towards positive change, fueled by a collective commitment to progress and unity. Obi concluded by expressing gratitude for the unwavering support and encouraged continued efforts in shaping a future defined by compassion, opportunity, and justice for all.
