Sri Lanka’s KDAW teams up with CWEIC

Sri Lanka (Commonwealth) _ KDAW Construction has joined CWEIC as a new strategic partner and its Managing Director Menuwan Weerasinghe joined the Global Advisory Council.

A renowned construction firm with its headquarters located in Sri Lanka, K.D.A. Weerasinghe & Co. has a UK subsidiary called KDAW Construction. With 32 years of expertise as an EPC Contractor, KDAW is well-versed in the design and construction of drinking water and irrigation projects, as well as roads and expressways.

K.D.A. Weerasinghe & Co.’s Managing Director, Menuwan Weerasinghe has over fifteen years of expertise in the building and teaching industries. He had previously been the Secretary of the Major Contractors of Sri Lanka and a Director of the National Savings Bank Fund Management Company. Menuwan was a member of the industry on the University of Moratuwa’s Civil Engineering Department’s Industry Consultative Board.

Mr. K.D.A. Weerasinghe formed the firm in 1987, and in 1991 it became recognized as a limited liability company. Despite having a modest beginning, the firm has grown to become one of the biggest in the nation and has been certified by the CIDA as Grade CS2.

For more than 15 years, K.D.A. Weerasinghe & Co. Pvt Ltd (KDAW) has been a leading contractor for roads, highways, airports, water supply, and irrigation projects. It has the highest ICTAD/CIDA accreditation. With more than 27 years of experience, the business has completed more than 250 interdisciplinary projects that have resulted in more than 3000 km of highways and roads, More than 35 bridges and 1500 kilometers of pipe work.

A portion of the southern expressway, six of the eleven southern expressway link roads, the Galle road, the Galle fort internal roads, the distribution and transmission lines in the Echchalampatuttu, Mannar, and Ruhunupura water supply schemes, the 3 km surface water dam in Vavuniya, and the taxiways and aprons of the Bandaranaike International Airport and Ratmalana Domestic Airport are just a few of the notable projects completed by KDAW. KDAW now employs a broad staff that comprises skilled and experienced engineers in the fields of civil, mechanical, chemical, mining, material, and electrical engineering. Additionally, as the firm is forward- and backward-integrated, all items related to aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and road concrete are derived from quarries and factories run by the corporation.
