Rafe Husain, a Lucknow-born entrepreneur and inventor, has become a prominent figure in the electric bike industry. His journey began in India, where he completed his early education at St. Francis School in Lucknow. Husain later moved to the United States to pursue higher education, earning a degree in Mathematics and Engineering from the University of Michigan and subsequently a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California. Although he left his academic pursuits to embark on entrepreneurial ventures, his innovative spirit has driven him to hold multiple patents and establish Calibike as a leader in sustainable commuting solutions.

Calibike is not merely a product, it represents a broader vision for integrated transport solutions. Husain articulated the company’s ambition to complement existing public transportation systems. In particular, Calibike plans to integrate with large-scale infrastructure projects like Brightline West, a high-speed rail system connecting Las Vegas and Southern California. With its lightweight and eco-friendly design, Calibike is positioned to serve as a last-mile solution, providing commuters with an efficient means to reach their final destinations from public transport hubs.

Calibike’s innovative electric bike utilizes advanced battery technology, being the 31st seller of E-Bike batteries in the United States. These batteries are akin to those used in Tesla cars, reinforcing Calibike’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Additionally, the company’s launch aligns with California’s ambitious goal of transitioning to zero-emission vehicle sales by 2035. Calibike’s products are well-positioned within the state’s electric vehicle policies, which include tax incentives designed to encourage residents to adopt electric alternatives. Furthermore, California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project supports these initiatives by offering financial rebates to individuals purchasing electric vehicles.

Calibike’s mission is to revolutionize urban commuting through a focus on sustainability, innovation, and convenience. The company empowers individuals and communities to reduce their carbon footprints while adopting healthier lifestyles. Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, Calibike also donated electric bikes to the City of Corona. These bikes are intended for use by the city’s Park Rangers, enhancing their mobility while patrolling local parks and contributing to the preservation of natural resources. Mayor Richins highlighted this gesture, stating, “The donation of these electric bikes to our Park Rangers is a testament to Calibike’s commitment to environmental stewardship. These bikes will not only help reduce emissions but also allow our rangers to cover more ground efficiently.”

As urban mobility continues to evolve, Calibike aims to support broader efforts across California and beyond to foster a cleaner and more sustainable transportation landscape. Under Rafe Husain’s leadership, Calibike is not just participating in a movement; it is setting the standard for the future of electric transportation. Furthermore, by addressing the challenges posed by traditional transport methods, Calibike presents a promising vision for a greener, more interconnected urban environment. As cities strive to embrace eco-friendly solutions, Calibike stands at the forefront, paving the way for innovative and sustainable commuting options that cater to the needs of modern society.
