A ROADMAP TO HEALTH, HAPPINESS, AND ETHICS

-

First things first, how are you today? What are you doing to take care of yourself at a physical and emotional level? Do you have a plan for self-care?

The World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB) is hosting a global virtual conference on the 7th of April 2021, the World Health Day, to bring to the forefront ethical solutions to physical and mental health problems exacerbated by the pandemic.

They invite you to join here.

Isolation, economic disruption, loss of loved ones, and a feeling of helplessness are common to most of us. We are all in it together. The collective grief and confinement to our homes bind us as humans regardless of where we live. Some of us have embraced a status quo to get through the pandemic, yet many of us struggle to get through a day.

Sadly though, stress, anxiety, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, and suicide rates continue to rise rapidly. The United Nations officially warns of a sharp rise in mental health problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Devoid of a daily mental routine and holistic solutions to stay healthy at a mental and physical level, many of us resort to solutions that bring instant relief and long-term misery.

While there’s great emphasis on physical fitness and a daily routine to stay fit, it has taken a global pandemic to emphasize the importance of a mental routine. Overall, wellness and health have many parts: physical, emotional, and mental. Citizens of all countries worldwide need to be informed and equipped with tools that they can apply in their daily lives to help themselves. Such self-help tools and techniques would also lessen the burden on an already crammed health system in the pandemic.

There is a clear need for a global platform to address health problems that don’t classify as emergency care but need immediate attention – a global platform that will facilitate dialogue between different stakeholders and find solutions through collaboration rather than competition – a platform that will show us a way forward rather than belabor the past.

The WFEB was founded to foster ethics and human values in both public and private sectors. Their conference on the 7th of April 2021 aims to offer solutions and an ethical roadmap for better health at the individual level. It brings various stakeholders from around the world – country heads, heads on UN agencies, corporate leaders, social entrepreneurs, holistic health specialists, doctors, professors, researchers, and the media – to solve together.

To make the conference accessible to everyone around the world, the WFEB has no admission fees for the one coming on the World Health Day, the 7th of April 2021
