fatalities caused by Covid-19 and unintentional deaths caused by Covid-19-related responsibilities. Around 13.29 lakh anganwadi workers and 11.79 lakh assistants operate throughout the country. The district administrations have been tasked with identifying anganwadi and ANM employees who have been assigned to Covid-19-related activities and tasks.
Previously, the package included public healthcare practitioners, such as community health workers, who may be in close touch with and care for Covid-19 patients and may be at risk of being infected. According to the official, “All anganwadi workers and helpers engaged in COVID-19 awareness drive, vaccination drive, door-to-door delivery of take-home ration, providing support services to those in home quarantine, and those infected with COVID-19, ensuring institutional delivery, and any other COVID-19 related activities will be eligible for the scheme”.
