There were shark sightings in two different beaches in Australia as beach goers were told to get out of the water fast. In the middle of celebrating Australia day on the beaches of Australia all the fun had to come to a halt as surfer’s paradise and Manly beach were both evacuated due to shark spotting. This was done for the safety of the sharks as well as the people as they did not want to harm the animals for being in their natural habitat or have the people harmed for not being careful.

Surfers Paradise

In paradise beach the first shark was spotted around 10.00am and the life guards acted quickly enough ad quickly blocked people from getting into the water as well as getting the people in the water out of it quickly as possible.

They did not let anyone back in the water as the bull shark was spotted but within a few minutes they saw the second shark that was swimming with a pod of dolphins and feeding off a school of fish that was nearby. As the sharks were seen individually it is still not clear if it was two different sharks or just the same shark.

The shark clearly did not wait about as within 15 minutes then animal left and the patrons were allowed back into the beach and in the water but authorities were not going to take any risks and kept patrol of the water.

Manly Beach

It wasn’t just surfer’s paradise beach that had a shark sighting but also manly beach. Around 11.30 am the beach goers at Manly beach was asked to evacuate as there was a sighting of a hammerhead shark in the waters.

Manly beach did not shut down like surfers paradise did they just warned the people not to get into the water until the authorities dealt with the shark and the waters were once again secure for the people to get into.

Because both beaches the authorities made such quick decisions there was no harm to the people or to the sharks and everyone celebrated a peaceful Australia day.

The Sharks

The hammerhead shark are known to be large and intimidating but they are not aggressive towards humans. Bull sharks although smaller than a hammerhead is more aggressive and will attack humans and they top the list when it comes to causing death and casualties to humans.
