Canberra, Australia (CU)_ Scientists in Australia claim to have created a painless blood sugar test for diabetics, featuring a non-invasive strip that detects glucose levels through saliva. Australian researchers believe that the cost-effective saliva test will eventually replace the existing needle-based test for diabetic patients. Diabetic patients often check their blood sugar levels by pricking their fingers with a lancet several times a day and then inserting a drop of blood on a testing strip. As a result, some diabetics try to minimize the painful process by reducing the number of tests they have.
