LONDON (CU)_Since early 2020, the market capitalisation of crypto currencies have grown tenfold to about $2.6 trillion. In the United Kingdom, about 0.1 per cent of households’ wealth is in crypto assets, particularly in bitcoin, the most prominent digital currency. In early November, its value peaked above $67,000, but suffered a thumping earlier this month on account of the Omicron variant of COVID, before stabilising to the current level.
