Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ The glittering celebration of storytelling in the Indian streaming space unfolded in Mumbai at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2023. The star-studded event witnessed notable victories for actors Alia Bhatt and Manoj Bajpayee, with Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee securing multiple top honors. It was a special day for actress Alia Bhatt, as she secured the Best Actor, Web Original Film (Female) award for her role in the Netflix debut ‘Darlings.’ Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee took home the Best Actor, Web Original Film (Male) trophy for his outstanding performance in the legal drama ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.’ Top web series such as Kohrra, Scoop and films like Monica, O My Darling and Gulmohar won special awards at the event. Jubilee, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, emerged as a major winner, clinching over 5 awards in various categories including Cinematography, sound design, and VFX.

Other notable winners included Suvinder Vicky, winning Best Actor, Series (Male): Drama for his character in the Netflix series ‘Kohrra,’ and Rajshri Deshpande, who bagged Best Actor, Series (Female): Drama for her performance in ‘Trial By Fire.’ In the realm of crime series, Vijay Varma’s spine-chilling performance in ‘Dahaad’ earned him the Best Actor, Series (Male), Critics: Drama, while his co-star Sonakshi Sinha shared the Best Actor, Series (Female), Critics: Drama award with Karishma Tanna for ‘Scoop,’ based on the life of former crime reporter Jigna Vora.

In the comedy category, Abhishek Banerjee and Maanvi Gagroo were honored with the Best Actor, Series (Male) and (Female) awards respectively for their roles in ‘The Great Weddings Of Munnes’ and ‘TVF Tripling.’ The event was not just about accolades but also a showcase of style, with Manoj Bajpayee donning a dapper white tuxedo and Alia Bhatt in a black attire accompanied by her sister Shaheen Bhatt.
