Canada’s Flair Airlines to step up flying…

-

Canada (Commonwealth Union)_ Following a solid performance over the last few months, Canadian low-cost carrier Flair has already set its eyes on the next summer season by announcing two new direct destinations.

The 2024 summer schedule of Canadian discount airline Flair Airlines’ includes twice as many flights to the United States as well as new routes to Quebec City and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Beginning 31st May, 2024, the airline will offer a direct service between Vancouver (YVR) and the Mexican city of Guadalajara (GDL). Flair is planning two weekly frequencies, ideal for leisure traffic, with fares starting at $129. This is indeed exciting news for the Canadian market.  The last time an airline offered a direct service between Vancouver and the Mexican city was in 2004.

The Edmonton-headquartered airline announced on 1st November, that it plans to increase capacity at its aircraft bases in Toronto and Kitchener, Ont., by 25% during the upcoming Northern Hemisphere summer travel season.

It also plans to increase flights to US cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale by almost 100%.

The return of Vancouver – Guadalajara

Flair will add another route to its summer 2024 schedule besides Guadalajara.  Flair plans to launch three-weekly flights between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Quebec City on 6th May, with flights from Vancouver International Airport to Guadalajara beginning 31st May, with the lowest fare starting at $49.

Flair said that the last time Vancouver was connected non-stop to Guadalajara was in 2004.

The airline says it is also seeing “positive demand… for winter flights to the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean.” Flair recently announced new service from Calgary to Cancun, as well as new flights between Toronto and Kingston, Jamaica, commencing December.

With 20 Boeing 737s, Flair flies from Canada mainly to popular holiday destinations in the US and Mexico with a network covering around 35 cities.

The airline began operating scheduled flights in 2016 for a brand called NewLeaf Travel Company, then acquired NewLeaf’s assets in 2017 and commenced operations under the Flair name.

Flair previously stated that it has plans to eventually expand its fleet to 50 aircraft.

Flair’s solid performance

Observing the airline’s performance during last summer and fall, it is hard to object that it has a (F)lair for delivering good results.
