Commonwealth education officials to face Anti – Corruption commission called by Brindabella.

Greg Zwajgenberg Board Chair of Brindabella Christian Education Limited (BCEL) said action against the school in an Administrative Appeals Tribunal hearing as “ill conceived and flawed”, Department of education officials involved are summoned for a review.

                In a school’s newsletter a statement was circulated that Mr. Zwajgenberg was pleased with the final outcome of BCEL’S March Appeal, but indicated that the boards legal team would prepare to file a case on the agencies and departments involved to refer them to the National Anti- Corruption Commission, the department of education offices involved in the hearing are called for an internal review by Mr. Zwajgenberg.in the AAT and

               In the future following an application to the AAT to have the exact extent of the conduct placed on the public record through documents, which is obtained under subpoena, legal advice on the college being reviewed by the board, recovering all direct and indirect costs pertaining to this matter. Mr. Zwajgenberg said that not to mention the untold reputational damage inflicted during the past three years from the relevant parties.  He also mentioned that the board will move forward in Christian love and forgiveness. Mid this year the Anti- Corruption Commission is expected to begin operations.

                     A 2021 finding by a delegate for the minister that BCEL was not a “fit and proper person” to conduct the school, receiving more than $10 million per annum in public fundings, their appeals was put forward by Brindabella Christians.

           The agreement reached between commonwealth education Minister in the AAT and BCEL comprised more than 60 conditions, a requirement was included that the school board has to expand from 3 to 5, with one current parent and two women.

A survey of students and staff is required to be carried by the school. Qualified accounts and finance team are asked to be appointed.

To the board, two new directors have been appointed. Flora Lee is a volunteer community radio announcer and a retired sales director, she has been appointed as an independent parent representative. Suzanne Power is the school’s executive principal for connected education.

              To the Minister of Education, the school is required to provide quarterly proof of financial viability.  Brindabella must notify the minister if any payment lapses within 14 days and it must be certified by a qualified external auditor.

              During the audit conducted by Saward Dawson and KPMG Mr. Zwajgenberg mentioned that schools had completed over 90 % of the recommendation issued.

             Steps have been taken to ensure that provides the department of education with progress reports on the remaining changes.
