Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (CWBN)_ Commonwealth Business News is projecting Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election, in one of the most nail biting elections in United States history, as a late surge propelled the Democratic challenger past President Donald Trump in key battleground states.

CWBN is projecting that Biden will win the crucial state of Pennsylvania, taking the former vice president across the required mark of 270 Electoral College Votes, and that he will win 306 votes to Trump’s 232.

Trump had declared victory several hours earlier and threatened to prevent the completion of vote counting, moves that drew scathing criticism from many quarters.

Biden is expected to be officially appointed by the Electoral College which is scheduled to meet on 14th December in their respective state capitals (electors for the District of Columbia meet within the District), at which time they cast their electoral votes on separate ballots for president and vice president. He will take the oath of office in Washington DC on January 20th, 2021. He will be the oldest U.S. President at age 78.

The race came down to a handful of states – Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin – with the lead changing hands in several of them as counting progressed.

CWBN is also projecting that Biden will win the popular vote by more than 4 million votes in an election that witnessed more votes being cast than any election in U.S. history.
