Five Indian Americans ranked in the list of Rising Stars of Wall Street!

USA (Commonwealth Union)_ Five Indian Americans are among Business Insider’s ‘Rising Stars of Wall Street,’ which is a list of 25 young professionals aged below 35 who are growing despite obstacles and grabbing chances as they arise. According to the publication, “Some up-and-comers are pushing their teams to the top of industry rankings, and many are immigrants climbing the ranks at major institutions infusing diverse ideas into their decision-making”. Akash Pradhan, Swati Rao, Naveen Shahani, Richesh Shah, and Vineet Trivedi are the five Indian-American Wall Street rising stars from New York City or its surroundings who distinguished themselves in some fashion.

Akash Pradhan, 33, principal at TPG

Pradhan entered the boutique investment bank The Raine Group in 2011. According to Insider, he joined the firm despite not understanding what the business did. The Raine Group focuses on sports, media, and entertainment. The alumni of UC Berkeley quit Raine for TPG in 2013 and remained with the $127 billion private-equity company since then, with the exception of his MBA studies at Harvard Business School. In January 2022, Pradhan was elevated to the principal role and now oversees investments in software and enterprise technology across multiple TPG funds, including TPG Capital, TPG Growth, and the impact-oriented sector, The Rise Fund.

Swati Rao, 34, director at Citi

Rao is a director of Citi’s banking, capital markets, and consulting sector, specializing in transactions with firms primarily involved in transportation, logistics, and the supply chain. Last year, she participated in deals and transactions with a total value of over $8 billion, covering technology, logistics, and transportation.

Naveen Shahani, 32, principal at Apollo Global Management

Shahani has worked for Apollo Global Management for the past eight and a half years as a principal in the firm’s private-equity business. In 2021, the Wharton graduate helped establish and lead Apollo’s special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

Richesh Shah, 33, director of PJT Partners

According to Insider, being the director at PJT Partners, Shah does not promote the value of unnecessary late-night labor. He is a member of the boutique bank’s structured-products team, which creates customized capital and financing solutions for large investors. Shah was formerly an investment-banking analyst at Citi, dealing with financial institutions and media-and-telecommunications businesses.

Vinay Trivedi, 31, vice president of General Atlantic

While pursuing his computer science degree at Harvard, Trivedi spent all his free time developing new applications and told Insider that he imagined himself as the next Mark Zuckerberg. This interest in technology eventually led him to the financial market. He is presently serving as the vice president at General Atlantic. After entering General Atlantic in 2019, he has dealt a number of transactions totaling $3.3 billion in capital.
