The German transportation company Flixbus is coming to India, according to Dr. Philipp Ackermann, the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bhutan and India. He firmly believes that it presents a fantastic opportunity for our two nations. Under the auspices of the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership, both governments work together to modernize the Indian energy sector and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions in several other areas, such as transportation.

It is extremely encouraging that a private firm with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions and offering sustainable mobility as part of its business strategy exists. Encouraging group travel to cut down on transportation-related emissions is a worldwide endeavor that needs major work from our society and the governments of Germany and India. Increasing the accessibility and convenience of bus travel is a key lever to raise the allure of communal transportation.

Examining the nations where Flixbus was operating in October 2023, it is verified that by 2024, Flixbus was serving more than 400,000 routes and 5,000 destinations throughout more than 40 nations.
