Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ Tracy Mureithi, a 23-year-old Kenyan-born realtor, has made a remarkable mark in Toronto’s competitive real estate market, selling over 40 houses. Her story is one of resilience, ambition, and passion, as told in her interview with Chams Media’s Daring Abroad. From her early beginnings in Kenya to building a thriving career in Canada, Mureithi’s journey showcases the power of determination.

Her interest in real estate began at a young age, inspired by Kenyan television shows and fuelled by her father’s entrepreneurial influence. Mureithi’s father is a successful businessman in Nyahururu, Kenya, where he runs a construction company, manages farms, and operates a fleet of matatus. His business acumen and dedication to hard work greatly influenced her belief in charting her own path.

In 2019, Mureithi moved to Canada to pursue a degree in Business Technology Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. It was during her time in school that she saw an opportunity to break into the real estate industry. Obtaining her realtor’s license while balancing her studies, she demonstrated incredible discipline by juggling both her academic responsibilities and budding real estate career. Her education prior to her Canadian journey included studying international accounting at Strathmore University in Kenya and attending The Kenya High School in Kileleshwa.

Mureithi graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023, but her real estate success was already in full swing. She founded her own business three years ago, focusing on educating her community about real estate investment opportunities in both Canada and Kenya. For Mureithi, real estate isn’t just a career; it’s a way to empower others, helping clients build wealth and make informed investment decisions.

Her work has helped many clients navigate the complexities of real estate, guiding them toward financial independence. Despite her success, Mureithi’s path has not been without challenges. She has faced racial discrimination and the difficulty of establishing herself in a predominantly white industry. However, these obstacles have only strengthened her resolve to succeed.

Currently, Mureithi works with RE/MAX Realtron Realty Inc. in Toronto and continues to inspire others with her achievements and work ethic. Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance and belief in one’s own potential, regardless of background or obstacles.
