Commonwealth_ In observance of International Women’s Day, the Commonwealth will host an event that focuses on strategies to close the gender gap in the workforce. Scheduled for 6 March at Marlborough House in London, this event aims to address persistent barriers to gender equality and celebrate progress made in empowering women.
The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland, will lead the gathering, joined by prominent leaders, celebrities, academics, dignitaries, and women’s rights advocates. The NO MORE Foundation’s Global Director, Pamela Zaballa, will introduce a new Commonwealth initiative aimed at reducing domestic violence in member states. This campaign seeks to address one of the most pervasive challenges to gender equality by promoting safety and support for women in their homes and communities. Domestic violence not only affects the physical and mental well-being of individuals but also limits their economic and social opportunities, underscoring the need for robust interventions.
