Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ The Consulate General of India in New York paid tribute to the extraordinary valor and sacrifices of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, by organizing an exhibition on Veer Bal Diwas. This exhibition, held to commemorate the bravery and sacrifices of the ‘Veer Sahibzade’ on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, was showcased at the Consulate premises. Drawing substantial attendance from the Indian-American community, the event received a notable show of support. In a gesture of respect, the Consulate extended the exhibition until December 28, honouring a request from a local gurdwara priest. This move underscores the meaningful collaboration between the Consulate and the local Sikh community, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for the cultural and historical significance portrayed in the exhibition.

Acting Consul General of India in New York Varun Jeph also visited the Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Lubana in Queens, where he paid homage to the Veer Sahibzade. The Consulate’s exhibition will further be showcased at gurdwaras in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India in Houston observed Veer Bal Diwas with a photo exhibition showcasing the courage and resilience of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Sahibzade. The Indian Embassy in the US highlighted a Shaheedi Samagam at Brookfield Gurdwara, Wisconsin, where Sikh and Indian American leaders, along with senior Embassy officials, paid a fitting tribute to the exemplary courage and sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s Sahibzadas, marking Veer Bal Diwas. The event aimed to pay tribute to young heroes through special videos and exhibitions, recognizing their pivotal roles in Sikh history. By showcasing their contributions, the event highlighted the profound impact these young individuals have had on shaping and preserving the cultural and historical narrative of the Sikh community.
