Head of Logistics UK implores members to participate in the examination of logistics capabilities

-

Kent, England (Commonwealth Union)_Initiated recently by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), the comprehensive evaluation of the education of logistics and transportation professionals   is actively collecting input on what is working and what needs to improve. The strategic route of transportation and logistics skills training is the first chance to assess the occupational map and provide input on how it should develop going forward. The head of Logistics UK implores members to participate in the examination of logistics capabilities.

“Apprenticeships provide a key entry point into our industry for people who are eager to ‘earn while they learn,” Chief Executive of Logistics UK, David Wells, said. “However, it is crucial that those standards are fit for purpose and give suitable training and development opportunities. To ensure that future training opportunities produce the greatest results possible for both the person and the organization, we are asking our members to participate in this consultation.”

IfATE would like to hear from as many companies and stakeholders as possible given that logistics has struggled to fill its skills shortages, a subject that has been well-documented.

A keynote report with suggestions on how to guarantee that apprenticeships and more extensive technical degrees satisfy company needs both now and, in the future, promote sustainability and draw in new and varied talent will be produced as a result of this route assessment. A series of webinars will be offered for discussion and to address any issues as part of a public consultation that will last through Friday, November 4, 2022, and will be conducted via an online survey. “This is a terrific chance for everyone who cares about the future of transportation and logistics to contribute to ensuring that top-notch skill development will sustain the industry for centuries to come,” the expert added.
