Today, June 3, Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles will go to Sri Lanka on official business. The Deputy Prime Minister is anticipated to make courtesy calls on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath as well as President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during this tour.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, he will also meet Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who will be the chief guest at a special luncheon held at Australia House in honor of the visiting minister.
Major General (Retd) Aruna Jayasekara, the Deputy Minister of Defence, will also have a bilateral session with the Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the visit is intended to improve defense industry cooperation and further solidify bilateral ties between the two nations. Officials from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Department of Defence, and the Prime Minister’s Office will accompany the Deputy Prime Minister.
