According to the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Jordan‘s step forward in its solid road rehabilitation scheme has been accomplished, and thus Jordan is viewing completion of its latest phase of the Southern Region Road Maintenance Project—Kuwaiti Loan-Financed Tenders (Phase III). The completion of this phase of road rehabilitation works is primarily aimed at improving the safety and functionality of the transport network in the southern region of the Kingdom of Jordan.

The construction initiatives have been targeting a variety of transport corridor system connections and characterizations serving people, market-driven organizations, and the movement of cargo between compartments of the Southern Jordan territory. Among the modernized connections, one may highlight 4 km of Al-Kharazah–Al-Dhira Road, 2.7 km of Qatraneh Desert Road, and a 7 km section of the Qatraneh–Karak Road corridor that are critical from the perspective of connecting people.
Instead of making short-term fixes, engineers chose to implement a complete overhaul of road construction. The project included the removal of damaged asphalt and the laying of new asphalt made from polymer-modified hot mix, which will withstand the impact of heavy traffic and extreme weather conditions.
