Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Panorama Studios, an Indian production company, and Athology Studios from South Korea have recently announced a groundbreaking collaboration to produce a Korean remake of the acclaimed Indian film “Drishyam.” This partnership marks the first-ever collaboration between an Indian and a Korean studio, and it also signifies the first time a Hindi film will be officially remade in the Korean language.

The news was revealed at the Indian Pavilion during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Kumar Mangat Pathak, representing Panorama Studios, and Jay Choi, from Anthology Studios, were present for the occasion. The Joint Secretary of the Film, Information, and Broadcasting Ministry, Prithul Kumar, also graced the event, witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two production companies.

Originally released in 2013, “Drishyam” is a Malayalam crime thriller written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. It has already been remade in four different Indian languages, spawning sequels such as Drishya in 2014 in Kannada; Drushyam in 2014 in Telugu; Papanasam in 2015 in Tamil; and another Drishyam in 2015 in Hindi. Additionally, the film has garnered international attention, leading to remakes in various foreign markets.

Expressing his thoughts, Kumar Mangat Pathak highlighted the immense success and critical acclaim the Drishyam franchise has achieved.
