Indiaspora’s Founder and Chairman, MR Rangaswami, expressed his personal congratulations to President-elect Trump. He reflected on the longstanding and strong ties between the US and India, which he expects to continue flourishing under Trump’s leadership. Rangaswami also reiterated that the strengthening of US-India relations, built during Trump’s first term, would remain a focal point in his second term, bolstered by bipartisan support. Rangaswami said, “On behalf of Indiaspora and the Indian-American community, I’d like to congratulate President Trump as the 47th President of the United States. I expect US-India relations to continue flourishing amidst this new political climate in America”. According to him, senior government officials on both sides forged strong relationships during President Trump’s first term, and there is robust bipartisan support in the United States to advance this vital bilateral partnership.

Sanjeev Joshipura, the Executive Director of Indiaspora, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the organisation’s ongoing mission to promote civic and political engagement within the Indian diaspora. Joshipura also noted the significant and consistent placement of Indian Americans in senior government positions across administrations, irrespective of party affiliation. According to Joshipura, Indiaspora has focused on two key areas over the years: enhancing the civic and political engagement of the Indian diaspora in a nonpartisan way and strengthening US-India relations. It is encouraging to see that each successive American administration, regardless of political party, has appointed Indian Americans to senior government positions, with the incoming Trump administration continuing this tradition. Furthermore, Indiaspora is poised to keep playing a role in driving bilateral dialogues, similar to those held in New Delhi and Houston during the previous Trump administration. With President Donald Trump sworn in on Monday, the Indian-American community remains optimistic about the continued strengthening of US-India relations under his leadership, with a focus on mutual prosperity, security, and collaboration.
