According to the World Health Organization (WHO), though nurses make up more than half of all health workers worldwide, there is still a critical deficit, with 5.9 million additional nurses required immediately, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Every year, International Nurses Day is commemorated to respect and glorify the selfless services of nurses and healthcare staff. They are on the front lines of the battle against the fatal coronavirus pandemic. They are working round the clock without a break beyond their call of duty to save patients, and many have been infected with the deadly virus as a result.
