During the first wave of the pandemic last year, India lost 748 doctors. To date, Covid has claimed the lives of nearly 1,000 doctors across India. The Indian Medical Association reported that in the second wave of Covid, so far 270 doctors have died. Last Sunday alone registered 50 deaths among them. In terms of deaths of doctors, Bihar has the highest mortality rate counting to 78 deaths, followed by 37 in Uttar Pradesh, 22 in Andhra Pradesh, and 29 in Delhi. The saddest part is that just 3% of these doctors had been completely vaccinated.
