India (Commonwealth) _ Kia India will begin accepting reservations for the all-new Sonet facelift tomorrow, December 20, at midnight. The revised sub-four-metre SUV is scheduled to be priced early next year by the South Korean automaker.

Kia India has reintroduced the ‘K-Code’ priority booking mechanism, which allows clients to skip the queue. Customers may get the K-Code from any current Kia customer and use it to reserve on December 20th, 2023, from 12 AM to 11:59 PM, via the Kia India website and the ‘MyKia’ app. Except for the Diesel MT models, which will be delivered in February 2024, new Sonet deliveries will commence in January 2024.

Tae-Jin Park, MD & CEO of Kia India, stated that they are excited to begin pre-booking for our highly anticipated second bestseller, the Sonet. Following the spectacular success of the Seltos, this unique concept has played a critical role in building our footprint in India. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our current customers for their unshakable trust in the brand, which has contributed considerably to Kia’s growth path.

The new Sonet premium value offer, built on segment-leading connected features, a revamped look, and the reintroduction of manual gearbox in diesel variants, will undoubtedly win the hearts of our loyal consumers.

With 11 exterior color options, the updated Sonet will be available in seven trim levels: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line. The monotone tones are Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Clear White, Pewter Olive, and Matte Graphite. Intense Red and Glacier White Pearl, with a black roof, are the dual-tone hues.

The 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre NA petrol, and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines power the Kia Sonet facelift. There are five transmission options for the new Sonet: a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, a six-speed iMT, a seven-speed DCT, and an automatic torque converter unit.

The pre-facelift Sonet ranged in price from Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom). We anticipate that the new costs would range from Rs 7.99-8.20 lakh to Rs 15.20-15.60 lakh. It will compete with the Tata Nexon facelift, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the impending Mahindra XUV300 facelift when it is released.

Since 2020, Kia has been producing the Kia Sonet, a subcompact crossover SUV. The Sonet, which was designed primarily for the Indian market, is positioned below the Seltos and is closely connected to the similarly-sized brother Hyundai Venue. It is sold in rising markets such as India, Nepal, Indonesia, South Africa, Namibia, Brunei, Vietnam, the Middle East, and a number of Latin American nations.

In February 2020, the Sonet Concept was previewed. The production version made its global premiere on August 7, 2020, and will be available in India from September 18, 2020. After the Seltos and the Carnival, it is Kia’s third model in India.

With a length of 3,995 mm (157.3 in), the Sonet belongs into the sub-4-meter SUV category in the Indian market, benefiting from tax breaks for vehicles lower than 4 meters. The Sonet is fitted with extended front and rear bumpers for export markets, increasing its length to 4,120 mm (162.2 in).

According to Kia, the Sonet has a high-strength steel framework that helps to reduce the effect of catastrophic accidents. Six airbags, electronic stability control, and an anti-lock brake system are among the safety equipment available on its highest levels, hill start assist control, vehicle stability management system, speed warning system, electronic traction control, parking sensors, brake aid, and driver’s seat belts with pretensions are all standard features.
