Later this year SIA passengers will be offered a luxurious ……..

-

For over fifty years, Singapore Airlines flew to the Western Australian capital city of Perth, presently providing 21 weekly services along the route.   This week SIA announced that work has commenced on a luxurious new SilverKris lounge at Perth Airport (PER), offering passengers enhanced facilities, new dining options and more space, to while away their time.

SIA kept Australians connected to Asia and vital export freight lines open throughout the pandemic.  This worked to quickly restart services to the 4 Australian ports where it currently operates 111 weekly services.

The new SilverKris lounge which is due to open by the end of this year, will be over double the size of the present lounge that is in use since 2006. It will be conveniently located at the International Terminal opposite Gate 52, accessible to all international gates in the transit area and will be able to accommodate about 140 customers in the new location.

What it will look like …..

The new lounge will follow the refreshed ‘Home away from Home’ concept, mirroring elements of the recently completed flagship SilverKris Lounge in Singapore situated at Terminal 3 at Changi Airport with the refurbishment costing approximately S$50 million (US$37 million).

Singapore Airlines stated that the lounge will consist of a series of distinct personal spaces including expanded dining rooms, a bar, productivity pods for those who need to catch up with work, a living room, and will also include shower facilities, to engender a sense of being at home.

Louis Arul, Singapore Airlines regional vice President – South West Pacific, said that the new lounge will deliver an enhanced travel experience reinforcing SIA’s commitment to Perth.  The new SilverKris Lounge will consist of a larger buffet area including a full bar and a live station, providing a wide selection of freshly prepared food and beverages to travellers throughout the day.

More flights to Perth ……

SIA announced a further boost to Perth’s capacity last month by adding 4 new weekly flights between 24th November 2023 and 14th January 2024.  This will increase Singapore Airlines flights between Perth and Singapore to 25 a week, adding more seats over the peak summer holiday season.

Singapore Airlines will use an Airbus A350 – 900 medium-haul aircraft which has a two-class layout with 40 business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout and 263 economy seats in a 3-3-3 layout for the SQ213 service departing Changi Airport at 7.40 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving at 12.55 in Perth.  The return SQ226 will depart from Perth at 14.10, arriving at Changi Airport at 19.30.

SIA stated that Business Class passengers or members of the PPS Club and Virgin Australia Velocity Beyond, Platinum and Gold card members, KrisFlyer Elite Gold members departing on SIA flights as well as STAR Alliance Gold member carrier-operated flights will be able to access the Lounge.
