New border exception will allow 300 teachers to come into NZ

Chris Hipkins stated that the Ministry of Education is willing to work with the education sector to make sure that early childhood education services and schools and assist them with their recruitment and will give that a priority. Chris further stated that “While the overall outlook for domestic teacher supply remains positive, I know that ECE services and schools continue to find certain locations and subjects difficult to recruit for, this will give principals and services additional support, especially for 2022 recruitment, and complement existing teacher supply initiatives.”

Early childhood education has been deemed important all around the world. This helps the child with early development which will aid the child to then be more comfortable around other children when it comes to attending higher schools. New Zealand has an amazing education system. This system has faced its fair share of problems but none the less the country has done whatever they could to help.

Now the Ministry of education has decided to get teacher from around the world to equip its early childhood education programmes with the best available option. The Ministry of Education will invite applications for these teachers from September. Chris Hipkins Further quoted “Teachers who were already employed in New Zealand, but who left the country and were unable to return to their job due to the border closure May also be eligible, a separate family reunification border exception is being created for the partners and dependent children of teachers who are already in New Zealand on temporary visas.” Teachers already in New Zealand will be able to request to bring in their partners and dependent children for the duration of their visa.
